December 2011 Letters

Hello family and friends how is everything going. Well this week we
have had a sick elder on our hands. He is having problems with his
head, so I have spent most of the week in the hospital. They couldn't
find a problem with his head so he is getting shipped to Lima today.
He is in a area that was opened only six weeks ago.  There aren't any
members there. So that means this week I will go and stay the week
with his companion while my companion stays with a member here. I will
go and be with his companion for the entire week. I will call from a
place called Soritor. It's about 40 minutes from Moyobamba. At least it
gets me away from the phone calls.

Well this week We found new families to teach this week. One of them
are really awesome. The mom says that she wants to be baptised, and
also 2 of her kids. We only taught the dad one time. He works a lot,
but he is really cool and really likes us to be there teaching the
word of god. Its cool.

This last week we went to a hill that is called el cerro de calzada.
It overlooks all of this valley. We were able to see all of the
different villages and things. It was an hour hike up to the top and
we were really tired when we finally made it up there all of the
sisters almost died, but they did alright. We were really excited to
all finally make it up. The sisters took a little  longer than usual
but it was cool to have everyone up there. My companion got lost going
down and it took forty five minutes to find his way out. I laughed
pretty hard because he was with the sisters and one of the district
leaders. The sisters were pretty mad at him. But its all good now.

This is a shout out from the elder who is sick and is going home.

hi family Clouse, my name is elder Huaiquimilla I am from Chile jejejejej, bye

Well things are going really well here. Its still a little stressful as
a Z L but everything is going really good this week. Well I will call
you all this week for Christmas also tonight for the annual Shepherd's
dinner. Love you all Elder Clouse

Hello family and friends. How is everything going in the U S Of A?
Well, things here are going great. This week we went to Tarapoto. Is
about 3 hours from Myobamba. Over there we had Christmas with
president Blunck. We did a  whole bunch of activities, sketches, special
musical numbers, and games. We traveled on Tuesday to about 12, and then
returned on Wednesday about 6 in the afternoon. It was a long trip
with a lot of activities. Everyone was absolutely dead tired afterward.
We went home and fell asleep at 9 15. Then we slept threw our alarm
until 8 00 the next morning. (I already repented) but it was really
worth it. We are still looking towards this day to sleep a little bit
longer but we will see.

Well Moyobamba is alot like Thatcher. Its in a valley. And I have" MY
MOUNTAIN" to look at every morning. As you saw in the pictures that Isent today, its really green and very beautiful. There isn't a whole
lot of dangerous parts here. The temperature is really cool at night. It
gets down to the 70's or 60's at night and only gets up to the 80 or 90's
during the day. It's alot different than Iquitos. From 110 during the
day and and 95 at night. The temperature is alot better For working. Its
great. Well other than that the people here are a little bit harder.
The door contacts don't really work here, and we are forced to work
with the members. If not We don't have very much success. Well this
week we did a mission plan for our branch. The other one wasn't working
very well so redid it just a little bit.

Well everything is going well with me and my companion. Hes a cool
guy. We have a baptismal date for this Christmas and the sisters have
a family that need baptising. Luckily we are here to do it for them.
HAHAHa I feel like a robber but it will be great. It doesn't matter who
baptises them. Only if they get baptised nothing else matters right.

Well its still a little weird going to a bunch of meetings and
receiving phone calls from the assistant and president Blunck but I am
getting used to it. Its still cool though. Well everything is going
well with me. I love you and hope everything goes well this Christmas.
I love you and will talk to you all soon. Love you all

Hello family and friends. This week there was a problem with the
Internet here. It just goes really slow. To do the weekly numbers it
took us over an hour. I don't why but the Internet here really stinks.
Well my new companion is Elder Flores. He is from Bolivia. He is a
zone leader with me and we were literally yelling at our stupid
computers. He is a great guy. He was in the army before he came out on
the mission, but he is really soft and sweet and jokes around a lot.
Well here in Moyobamba, the people are a little different. They are
a little bit harder to talk to. I did 60 door contacts this week
without going into a single house.  In Iquitios I got into two
houses every 5 door contacts. It's a little harder but it is still
going really well. we have a few people progressing but we need to get
more people to teach.
Well my area is really big. Its about 20 square miles. I have to
use alot of taxis and use alot  of flattering words to get the price
down to where we can afford it.
Well I really have to go now I am sorry its short. I am doing well
and have adjusted really well to my new calling and area. Love you all.
Elder Clouse
